Humans are quick learners, adaptable, and have a knack for surviving in the hardest of times. They inhabit the grassland region of Aficcin. Not only are they quick learners, but they also strive for increased knowledge. A majority of humans are rigorous in their training, some even spending a better part of their lives training and learning. For example, fighters spend years honing their craft to an incredible degree of power and skill. Human venaar, as well, are known to spend weeks at a time caught up in their research of magics. It is because of this yearning for new knowledge that makes them the most technologically advanced race on Amaret, and the most powerful.
Their capital city, Kumrav, is the crowning glory of human achievement. It is a fairly new capital, easily seen from the well-engineered streets and buildings. The city flows, almost, and it is very easy to move about. You can take almost any street and get anywhere, it just might take longer.
Although the city appears to be magnificent throughout, it houses quite a large crime circle. The underbelly of Kumrav is well hidden, but too much time spent in the capital and soon its ugliness will be revealed. Because of the crime problem, a large force of policemen are steadily trained and employed to keep the city free of criminals.
Aficcin is ruled by a king, and is an undisputed monarchy. He is paranoid of rebellion, despite his fair nature, the people are enamored with him. Because of his paranoia, he sends out men across Aficcin to search for the seeds of rebellion.
The humans are currently on good terms with the halflings, who make up a large portion of Aficcin. The nomadic halflings take no part in human politics, however, as long as they remain unrestricted on their lands. A long-lasting grudge against the dwarves has persisted for over a century, but recently they have forged a treaty and in present times are on fairly good terms as a trusted ally of Aficcin. The humans and the elves are also allies, but are wary of the other because of a vast difference in political opinions; the humans attack because of greed and power gain, while the elves prefer to remain neutral unless necessary. The humans feel for the plight of the Kromm, but have yet to act in any way to free them from the vand. However, they do hope to free them by defeating the vand in war.
